Top Tips for Setting Up a Profitable Membership Site - PART 1

Membership Website Tip #1: Focus Your Membership Website Product Idea.
Your membership website should be targeted to a specific group of readers who share very specific information needs, and are willing to pay a premium price for that information.

Membership Website Tip #2: Profile the Information Needs of Your Target Customer.
Your goal is to locate a target market focused on people who:

    * Have established an interest in what you’ll be writing about,
    * Are proven membership website users and subscribers,
    * Are part of either a growing or very stable audience,
    * Are not adequately served by existing membership websites.

Membership Website Tip #3: Prepare an In-Depth Competitive Market Analysis.
Search for competitive sites, request sample copies or purchase competitive publications, request media kits (which often contain a wealth of information about the market) and understand advertising and subscription pricing policies for your competition.

Membership Website Tip #4: Select Your Membership Website’s Competitive Position.
Use a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to evaluate your closest competition. How will you be different and how sustainable is that difference?

Membership Website Tip #5: Quantify the Economics of Your Membership Website.
Make assumptions…how many free members, how many paid members? How much for an annual subscription, what about other revenue sources, how much does it cost to obtain a new member, how long will you keep members?

3 Easy Ways To Get More Visitors To Your Membership Site Quickly

Getting new visitors to your website is the lifeblood of your online income and lead generation. The more qualified visitors you get, the more money you will potentially make from your business. I want to show you 3 easy ways to get more visitors to your website fast!

Easy Way #1:

Start emailing your current newsletter list more then you do. If you have a mailing list of some sort, you want to start contacting them at least 2 times per week and possibly more. Most people think this is spamming and are worried that their subscribers will just complain and leave the list.

The reality is, you need to build a relationship with them and get them to come back to your site to see what you have to offer them. If you do this well, you’ll keep getting more and more repeat traffic to your site and that traffic will buy more from you.

Easy Way #2:

Find one more traffic source that you are currently not using and test it. Don’t just be happy with the traffic or lack of traffic you’re currently getting to your website. You want to always be testing another source of traffic and see how it works for you.

Easy Way #3:

Create more products and services to offer your existing  customers and subscribers. This is the best way to get more traffic to your website really fast! Keep creating new offers for them to come back to your site and see.

The fastest way to make more money and get more traffic is to sell your existing customers more stuff that they are looking for.

How to Choose a Niche for Your Membership Site

I hear time and time again from people who struggle to find what niche they should start their membership site in.

The answer is easy!

If you are good at something: a skill, hobby or trade or you more know on a subject than many others, than this is the first place you should start. Whether it's about swimming, dog breeding, sewing or designing hair bows, you can make lots of money on the internet from your knowledge.

Remember, knowledge is power - and people want what you know. Of course, you need to do keyword research to find out if people actually want what you have to offer. So here are the top 5 things you need to do before chossing your membership site niche.

  1. Write down all the things you are good at, or topics you know lots about. If you have trouble with this then ask your friends and family what they think you are good at. The key is to write down at least 10 things.
  2. Go to Google Keyword research tool and type in your niche keywords: for example, "how to sew quilts" or "puppy breeding". You are looking for at least 1000 global searches per month and no more than 10,000 global searches per month to find a competitive marketplace. DON'T BE AFRAID OF COMPETITION...if other people are making money in your niche and are spendng money with PPC (pay per click) then there is money to be made.
  3. Next, drill down in your niche to find 1 sub-niche. Remember, the money is in the niche. For example, if you are interested in dog breeding then drill down deeper into this niche and do keyword research on "breeding labrador dogs" or "dalmation dog breeding".
  4. Next, go to forums in your niche and look for what people are asking for or are having problems with in relation to your niche. This is where the money is. Find what people want / need and then give it to them. Write down all the things you have discovered and then,
  5. Lastly, start with a blank A4 page and write down as many things you know related to this sub-niche....you may be surprised how much you actually know. This is to start of your membership site. You are about to create a product which answers everyone's questions or solves their problems.
This entire process should take no more than 1 hour of your time. So, get started and get excited about the possibilities that lay in waiting for you.

See you soon. M:)

Your Own Membership Site

Having your own membership site is the best way to make ongoing passive income online.

Think about this scenario for a minute:
You have a niche in quilting or something similar. You are selling an upfront product (ebook) for $27 and then a monthly "how to" membership for $27 per month giving away hints, tips and references for keen quiltters.

You sell 1 ebook per day and  have 2 people sign up to your membership site per week. That's $189 per week from ebook sales and $54 from new members; totalling $243 per week. That's $972 per month and $11,667 per year.

No Bad, hey?

Now imagine if you could increase your sales by 10 or even 30% with some free traffic generation through article marketing and referrals. It is very, very easy to achieve $1000 per month of extra no sweat income. Wouldn't you agree?

Membership websites are the best way to earn an income online and are very easy to create.

If you are passionate about something why not tell the world...they might be interested too.
